Tek Gear Puffer Jacket — Warmth That Moves With You
We designed the tek gear puffer jacket for women who refuse to let cold weather slow them down. The diamond-quilted shell traps heat without adding bulk, so you stay warm through morning runs, school drop-offs, and weekend hikes. A water-resistant finish sheds light rain and snow while the synthetic insulation maintains loft even when damp.

The outer shell is woven from ripstop polyester treated with a durable water repellent finish. This coating beads moisture on contact, keeping you dry during unexpected drizzle or wet snow. Inside, we pack the quilted channels with high-loft synthetic fiber that mimics down’s warmth-to-weight ratio without the allergen concerns or moisture sensitivity.

Fit & mobility for active lifestyles
Traditional puffer jackets restrict shoulder rotation and make reaching overhead feel like a workout. We engineered the tek gear puffer jacket with raglan sleeves that originate at the neckline rather than the shoulder seam. This construction shifts the bulk away from your shoulder joint and allows full range of motion for driving, lifting weights, or playing with kids at the park.
Articulated elbows with curved seams follow your arm’s natural bend, so the fabric never pulls tight when you flex. The cut sits closer to the body than bulky outdoor parkas but leaves room for layering a hoodie or fleece underneath. Elastic cuffs hug your wrists without binding, and the adjustable hem drawcord lets you customize the fit based on what you’re wearing underneath. Our sizing chart breaks down measurements across the bust, waist, and hip to help you select the best fit for your frame.

Weather protection & breathability
The water-resistant shell handles light precipitation without trapping sweat inside like a vinyl raincoat. Moisture vapor escapes through the fabric weave while the DWR coating deflects external wetness, maintaining a comfortable microclimate during moderate exertion. When temperatures drop below freezing, the full-length zipper and interior storm flap block wind from penetrating the front closure.
Elastic cuffs create a seal at the wrists without requiring Velcro tabs that wear out or snag on sweater sleeves. The adjustable hem drawcord cinches the jacket tight around your hips, preventing cold air from rushing up your torso when you bend over or sit down. Two zippered hand pockets provide secure storage for your phone and keys while keeping your fingers warm between errands.

Tek gear puffer jacket questions
The jacket provides comfortable insulation in temperatures ranging from 25°F to 50°F when worn as an outer layer. In colder conditions below 20°F, layer it under a waterproof shell for added wind protection. The synthetic fill maintains warmth during moderate activity levels like walking, light jogging, or running errands. If you’re standing still for extended periods in freezing weather, consider adding a thermal base layer underneath.
The water-resistant DWR coating handles light rain and wet snow effectively for short exposures of 15-20 minutes. Water beads on the surface rather than soaking through immediately. For sustained rain or heavy downpours, the jacket works best as a midlayer under a waterproof shell. The coating naturally wears down with repeated washing, but you can restore it using a spray-on DWR treatment available at outdoor retailers.
Our synthetic fill offers similar warmth-to-weight performance as 550-fill-power down but continues insulating when wet. Down loses loft and warmth when exposed to moisture, requiring careful drying to restore effectiveness. Synthetic insulation rebounds quickly after compression and works well for active pursuits where you might sweat or encounter damp conditions. It’s also hypoallergenic and easier to care for with standard machine washing.
Traditional puffer sleeves attach at the shoulder seam, placing bulk directly over your joint and restricting overhead movement. The tek gear puffer jacket uses raglan sleeves that originate at the neckline and diagonal seams that extend to the underarm. This design shifts fabric away from your shoulder, allowing full rotation for driving, lifting, or reaching. Articulated elbows with curved seams follow your arm’s natural bend without pulling tight.
The lightweight construction allows the jacket to compress into a small bundle for packing, though it doesn’t include a stuff sack. Roll the jacket loosely and secure it with the adjustable hem drawcord to fit into a carry-on bag or backpack side pocket. The synthetic insulation recovers its loft quickly when unpacked, typically within 30 minutes of hanging. Avoid storing the jacket compressed long-term, as prolonged compression reduces the fill’s ability to trap air.
Measure your bust, waist, and hip circumference, then compare those numbers to our size chart measurements. The jacket is designed to fit close to the body with room for one thin to medium-weight layer underneath. If you plan to wear thick hoodies or fleeces beneath it regularly, size up one increment. The raglan sleeve design accommodates a wide range of arm lengths without bunching at the wrists. If your measurements fall between two sizes, choose the larger size for easier layering.
The current design does not include reflective trim or logos. For early morning or evening activities in low-light conditions, we recommend wearing a reflective vest over the jacket or attaching clip-on lights to the zipper pulls. The bright colorway options like coral and lime provide better visibility than darker neutrals when worn during dawn or dusk hours.
