Tek Gear Skort — Active Skirt with Built-In Shorts
Our skort gives you the freedom of shorts with the coverage of a skirt — built for everything from tennis to trail hikes. The outer skirt layer falls just above the knee, while integrated compression shorts underneath keep you secure through every move.

The tek gear skort uses a 88% polyester, 12% spandex outer shell that pulls sweat away from skin while maintaining breathability. We chose this ratio because it balances stretch with shape retention — the fabric rebounds after washing and doesn’t sag at the waistband after repeated wear.

Sizing & Fit Guidelines
This skort runs true to standard US women’s sizing. The waistband stretches approximately two inches beyond the listed waist measurement, so if you’re between sizes, we recommend choosing your usual pant size rather than sizing up.
The skirt portion is designed to sit one inch above the knee on a 5’5″ frame — taller athletes will see a slightly shorter skirt length, while petite frames may find it grazing the kneecap. Inner short inseam measures 4.5 inches across all sizes, providing coverage without restricting stride length. We offer sizes XS through XXL with consistent proportional grading.

Pocket Design & Storage
Both side pockets are cut deep enough to hold a standard smartphone vertically — the opening sits at hip level and angles slightly forward for easy access while running. We added interior bar-tack reinforcement at the pocket mouth to prevent tearing when you’re pulling items in and out quickly.
The pockets are built into the skirt layer rather than the compression short, which keeps the storage weight distributed evenly around your hips instead of pulling against the inner liner. Pocket bags are constructed from lightweight mesh to reduce bulk and improve ventilation.

Skort Fit & Care Questions
The skort includes integrated compression shorts sewn directly into the waistband — they’re not removable. The compression short has a soft no-chafe liner and silicone grippers at the leg openings to prevent ride-up during movement. This design provides consistent coverage and support without the bulk of layering separate pieces.
The outer skirt measures approximately 15 inches from waistband to hem on a size medium, falling just above the knee on most frames. The inner compression short has a 4.5-inch inseam across all sizes. This creates about a 10-inch difference between the skirt hem and the short leg opening, ensuring full coverage during any activity.
The tek gear skort is built for high-impact activity including running, tennis, and interval training. The four-way stretch fabric and compression short design provide muscle support and chafe-free movement during cardio. The moisture-wicking treatment pulls sweat away from skin, and the silicone leg grippers keep the inner short stable through repetitive motion.
Static cling occasionally happens with synthetic fabrics, especially in dry climates. A quick spritz of water on the skirt layer before wearing neutralizes static charge. Avoid fabric softener when washing, as it can increase static buildup. Tumble drying on low heat rather than air-drying also helps reduce static by maintaining proper moisture balance in the fibers.
Yes — both side pockets are designed to hold a standard smartphone vertically without it bouncing out during movement. The pocket openings sit at hip level and angle slightly forward for easy access. Interior reinforcement prevents tearing, and the pockets are built into the skirt layer rather than the compression short to distribute weight evenly.
We recommend sticking with your usual pant size rather than sizing up. The waistband has built-in stretch that extends approximately two inches beyond the listed waist measurement, and the spandex content throughout the garment provides give. If you prefer a looser fit in the compression short, sizing up is an option, but most athletes find their standard size comfortable.
The polyester-spandex blend is engineered for frequent laundering — customers report washing weekly for six months or more with no loss of elasticity or shape. Machine wash cold and tumble dry on low heat to help the spandex fibers reset. The moisture-wicking treatment is permanent and won’t degrade. The silicone grippers typically maintain effectiveness for approximately 50 wash cycles.
